Pest Or Pets?
How many times have we been sitting in one place and we saw many people feeding hundreds of pigeons that swirl desperate for the crumbs of bread or biscuits? View this picture in any place or park in Argentina is almost as normal as watching people taking their dogs for a walk or the kids playing ball. So it is very difficult to believe that today the pigeons are considered a pest in most cities on the planet. The rock dove or domestic is the most famous of the 300 varieties that exist in the world.
The most remarkable thing about this type of pigeon is the ability to return to their nest from anywhere, that’s why have been domesticated for carrying messages, which made them an excellent method of communication before the telegraph was invented. For people who raise pigeons in order to become messengers, are called “columbofilos”, a practice that has now become just a hobby due to the advent of new technologies. The ostrich in the Bible versus the Quran (2)
The ostrich is mentioned 10 times in the Bible. In Micah 1:8, the Lord God says: I will make lamentation like the ostriches, mourning like the ostriches.
On the other hand, the ostrich is not mentioned therein in the Quran. Yet, the Quran says that the birds in general live in societies like human beings.
